A pillow made of wood would weigh a lot more than a pillow made of feathers or foam. All materials have properties that can be observed or tested.

When you ride a bicycle, the pedals, the gears, the wheels and the handle bars all work together to get you where you need to go. They are a system. There are many kinds of systems. Your body has systems made of organs, like the digestive system includes the mouth, esophagus, stomach, and intestines. The solar system has many planets and objects that all travel around it. A radio is a system of knobs, circuits, speakers, and lights. All systems have parts that work together.
