Understanding the Counselor's Role

National Model

A comprehensive school counseling program is aligned with the American School Counseling Association (ASCA) National Model and emphasizes the use of evidence-based practices in order to deliver effective and efficient services.

Three Domains

A comprehensive school counseling program aims to serve all students and set them up for success in three domains: academics, socio-emotional development, and college/career readiness.

Equity and Access

It is an inclusive program that utilizes systems of organization, structure, collaboration, and evaluation to provide a multitude of services for all students.
