List of Current TAs
TA is Twinfield's high school advisory system. Students are matched with a TA when they enter the high school and meet regularly with that TA. High school (and middle school days) begin with a short TA meeting. This is a time to take attendance and check in about the day as well as time for students to connect with each other and with their TA teacher.
Once a week, TAs meet for an extended time. In addition to continued community and relationship building, extended TA should be used for supporting students in tracking proficiencies, documenting learning in their portfolios, and accessing a variety of instructional, intervention, and enrichment opportunities, both within the school and the community.
Teacher Advisors provide encouragement and advocate for students. They are an integral part of the planning and scheduling process. They have an ongoing relationship with students and collaborate with Guidance to help create a strong educational plan as well as a long-range plan for each student.
As an effective Teacher Advisor, your role will change as your teacher advisees (TAs) grow and mature. There are certain aspects of the role, however, that will remain consistent:
The TA is a communication link between school and home. This includes
The TA is an advocate for their TAs and provide support and intervention as needed.
The TA is an advisor who collaboratively works with the student, parents, guidance, and teachers to assist their TAs as they plan their educational program, with the intention of maximizing their potential.
