Materials needed EVERYDAY by EVERY STUDENT:
Writing Utensil (pencils, blue pens, or black pens ONLY)
1 Subject Spiral Notebook (will stay in the classroom and be used for interactive journaling purposes)
If you would like to contribute the following supplies, they will be used by students and greatly appreciated:
Disinfectant Wipes (for lab tables and student desks)
Glue Sticks (for interactive journals)
Blue or black ink pens
Pencils
Be engage in learning about the complexity of life
Be equipped for the EOC
Be ready for related college and career courses
Be Present, Punctual, Positive, Prepared and Respectful!
Take advantage of tutorial times and make-up opportunities
Study, turn in all homework, and follow teacher directions
Absolutely NO inappropriate language or socially unacceptable conversation will be tolerated: no exceptions!

Class time will be used for:
Introduction, instruction, practice, assessment, and review of scientific concepts
Class time will not be used for:
Screen (Phone/Chromebook/Tablet/Device) Time – UNLESS applicable to the day’s lesson
Snack, Naps, or Break Time
Free Time or Gossip Time
Cheating, Arguing, Complaining, or Foul Language
Expectations:
Be present in body and mind
Be on time and prepared for class
Be a positive influence on your classmates
Be respectful of your classmates, yourself, and your teacher at all times
Be responsible (turn in homework, take organized notes, go to tutorials, use IF time, etc)
Rules:
Follow all CCHS Rules
Follow Ms. Tinsley’s CHAMPs guidelines
No food or drinks in the classroom, with the exception of water in a sealable bottle
Always do your own work to the BEST of your ability
Stay in your seat while the teacher is teaching or giving instructions
Do not talk when the teacher or other students are teaching and/clarifying information
Have pencils sharpened and ALL materials needed for the lesson on your desk BEFORE the bell rings
Absolutely no inappropriate language or socially unacceptable conversation will be tolerated: no exceptions!
Daily Procedures:
Place phone in phone collection location (this is a new school-wide policy)
Look to the white board for the day’s instructions on what is needed at your desk
Leave Chromebook in backpack unless otherwise instructed (on the white board)
Place all backpacks, bags, and other personal belongings on the tables located in the back left of the classroom
Have all materials needed for the day BEFORE the bell: writing utensil, journal, etc. (listed on the white board)
Engage and participate in instruction and activities
Participate in closure activity including classroom clean-up
Dismiss to your next class when given direction by the teacher
Classroom Policy
Technology is used in the classroom and laboratory to increase and improve the ability to observe and test hypotheses within the realm of biological science
Class time is not My Time or Your Time, it is Our Time! Therefore: Ms. Tinsley’s electronic policy is as follows:
Cell phones, iPods, mp3 players, and all other handheld devices are to be:
Turned off and placed in the collection location upon entering the classroom
Student backpacks will then be stored on the back tables in the classroom
If phones are not stored properly and displayed without permission, the phone will be confiscated
Confiscated phones will be sent to the principal’s office
The phone collection policy is school-wide and parallel to that of the Phone Policy listed in the handbook
Laptops and iPads are to be:
Kept in the backpack until permission is given for use
If you have an emergency, simply ask permission to retrieve your phone
General CCHS Policy
Cell phones will be turned off and placed in appropriate container when entering the classroom
No other electronic devices will be allowed that are not issued by the school
Cell phones may be used during lunch and passing periods
Please see page 20 of the student handbook for Cell Phone Policy infraction penalties
Hall Passes
Students are given five minutes in between class, they are required to use that time wisely
No more than six (6) total hall passes will be granted over a grading period for any single student
They must keep their hall pass card, and it will be marked with every pass
No punch card = no pass
Tardy Policy
Class starts when the bell rings. Classroom doors will be locked once the bell rings
Students must get a tardy slip to enter classroom by reporting to the office and returning to class with the slip
Tardies can lead to lunch detention, ISS, or other administratively assigned punishment
Referrals
Refusal to comply with classroom and/or school rules will result in 4-Step or immediate office referral
