LA COUNTRY LIBRARY only lets parents sign up for an ecard, but you can use that card number in Sora for your student, and Sora will apply age restrictions when they access the library. Click on logo to sign up now.

What is SoCaLIS and why do I see that when I log in?
This stands for Southern California Librarians of Independent Schools. We access Sora as part of a consortium of schools. Our SoCaLis account makes Sora affordable for a small school, and provides access to a school district's worth of titles. Within Sora we have private CCS titles that are all ours to assign and share with our school, but your Sora page will say SoCaLIS.
Age controls?
You bet. Student accounts are already set to juvenile access that we control on the school end. Even when you attach a public library, students will still only be able to see books within the children's book section. Contact Katie for questions.
How do I send books to my Kindle?
Many novels can be sent to your Kindle. From your Sora SHELF, click the cover of the book, then click SEND TO DEVICE. You will have a two click prompt that will route it to your Kindle.
Can I adjust the brightness?
When you are in the book, click the three horizontal lines on the Top R. A menu of options will appear on the Right. Click READING SETTINGS. This will also adjust light, font and size.
