1-Very Limited Achievement - Student put forth little effort. Projects are not complete. Artwork does not show original thought and students seemed to misunderstand the given problem. Technique is below average. Elements and Principles of Design are ineffective. You’re most likely capable of better. (65%)
2 - Limited Achievement - Student could have worked harder than he or she did. Project does not show development. Technique is adequate. There may be some misunderstanding of the problem. Artwork shows little original thought. Elements and Principles of Design are only partially effective. You’re still most likely capable of better. (75%)
3 - Sound Achievement - Student has shown an average level of effort. They have solved the given problem using good technique. Artwork shows some original thought. Elements and Principles are utilized to enhance artwork. Now you’re getting there. (85%)
4 - High Achievement - Student has used a high level of effort solving the given problem. Technique is strong and artwork shows original thought. Student has shown their ability to use the elements and principles to further enhance the artwork. Awesome, great job, I knew you could do it. (95%)
5 - Very High Achievement - Student has gone beyond the effort expected to complete this project. The student has solved the given problem, with above average technique, and personal content added to the artwork. The work is creative and shows original thought. Elements and principles greatly enhance the artwork. Wow, oh baby! (100%)
*** Most students have to try to fail art. The only way they fail is if they don’t do any work, or they don’t hand anything in.
