CAPS provides students with the opportunity to develop skills related to potential future careers, as well as build personal connections with mentors in local industries. The program helps students recognize the potential application of concepts they are learning in the classroom, and broaden their vision of the careers they may want to pursue after graduation.

I chose to participate in the CAPS program to support the growth, education and a "hands-on" training approach for the aspiring youth that want to make a difference in their individual lives, with future employers and their community.

As a professional recruiter and HR executive, I see great value in young people gaining industry experience through internships, employment, and other career-related mentoring opportunities. CAPS provides this for our high school-age kids. I encourage anyone interested in getting a leg up on what they hope to be in their career, to take advantage of this new program!

The moment I learned of this CAPS program I knew I had to be involved because I am passionate about education and believe we can better prepare students for our rapidly changing technical world. Having found technical education lacking during my own school years, I hope help to close that gap for future students. My extensive experience as a software engineer and leader in both consumer and industrial sectors has fueled my passion for STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, Mathematics) education. By serving on this board, I aim to share that experience as well as my enthusiasm to inspire and support the next generation of innovators.
