WELCOME TO 6th GRADE!
I'm Mrs. Wachowiak. This is my 9th year teaching in CCSD93, and I absolutely LOVE it! Over the past eight years, I have taught 6th, 7th, and 8th grade ELA and Humanities. (Here's a little secret - 6th is my favorite!) I attended Elmhurst College where I earned my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education as well as endorsements in ELA, reading, humanities, and middle school. I recently earned my Master’s Degree as a Reading Specialist.
As a teacher, I believe every child can learn and deserves a high quality education. I commit myself to each student and will do everything I can to ensure each is successful. In my classroom, students can look forward to smiles, laughter, challenges, working collaboratively as well as independently, learning through simulations and hands-on activities, utilizing technology in new and fun ways, high expectations, and much, much more! Get ready to have a great 6th grade year!
On a personal note, I have been married to my wonderful husband for seven years. We have a beautiful four-year-old daughter, two-and-a-half-year-old son, two dogs, and a cat. Our house sometimes feels like a zoo! Over the summer, we enjoyed camping, walking around our neighborhood, playing outside, and watching Disney movies, Scooby Doo, and Paw Patrol!
