My name is Dara Hoyt and I am so excited to be teaching general music at Poe Elementary School this year and look forward to getting to know your children. I grew up in this area and also attended District 21.
My name is Dara Hoyt and I am so excited to be teaching general music at Poe Elementary School this year and look forward to getting to know your children. I grew up in this area and also attended District 21.
I have been teaching elementary general music from 2004-present at Poe Elementary School, Cooper, Frost, and recently Riley in District 21. I graduated from The University of Iowa with a Bachelor of Arts in Vocal Performance and Elementary Education with a middle school endorsement. I have also received my Masters in Music Education from VanderCook College of Music.
I have been teaching elementary general music from 2004-present at Poe Elementary School, Cooper, Frost, and recently Riley in District 21. I enjoy exploring the town and spending time together with my husband, son, and daughter. Outside of teaching music, I have been able to sing the National Anthem at various sporting events for teams such as the Chicago Cubs, Chicago Bulls, and the Chicago Dogs baseball team. I have started to play the ukelele and like to perform with some of my music teacher friends.
