Implementation is the critical union between curriculum, assessment, and instruction. Student learning should be a deep, challenging, and engaging experience where success is measured by opportunities for feedback, improvement, and growth; not necessarily by a grade. An obvious marriage between content standards and mathematical practices should be evident in every math classroom. For this to occur, teachers are working in collaborative teams to facilitate deliberately designed and meaningful lessons focused on the four critical PLC questions. Instructional decisions are based on formative, interim, and summative assessment data provided at the classroom, school, and district levels. By designing lessons that promote productive struggle, require students to answer rich questions, provide the opportunity to construct models, and implement the latest technology, students take ownership of their education.
