ACT, TRANSFORM, SERVE, & LEAD WITH VERSATILITY
Transformative and servant leadership styles have attributes that align best with my beliefs and core values. Additionally, versatility is a desirable trait any professional leader can possess. There are shortcomings and limitations in almost every situation. That is why I feel that an educational leader’s job primarily involves at least two or three interconnected components. First, teachers must have high job satisfaction, which provides a foundation for students to achieve high levels of success. Therefore, I will do all I can to ensure high levels of teacher job satisfaction by utilizing strong and effective models of leadership. Second, I will strive to ensure that students have the best possible outcomes within the learning environments we provide for them. This will be based on diligent work on ethics and professional norms. Continuous development of instructional practices, evaluation of assessment data, and a deep understanding of the curriculum are the final tasks that will be met daily with an eagerness and vigor for lifelong learning that all stakeholders will readily observe when they are on campus. Finally, educational leaders must continuously provide support and communication to the parents of the students within the building. These stakeholders are a vital component of a dynamic and successful educational setting.
ON A PERSONAL NOTE:
This will be my 8th year in Campbell County School District. I am thrilled to be working with the 5th & 6th grade teams this year in the building. My previous work experience in long-range maintenance planning, behavioral safety instructor, and a variety of mechanical work at Buckskin and Black Thunder mines for 16 years provides me with a perspective of work in our region that is helpful in relations with our stakeholders. Additionally, I have experience in my strength and conditioning field as a collegiate strength and conditioning coach at CSU Sacramento in California for 4 years. The various work environments I have experienced have all had many common characteristics, such as goal-oriented work, team building and team teamwork, and relationships.
Now, as an educator, I am very excited to have the privilege of working with the staff, the students, and their families here at Buffalo Ridge. The teachers and the students are all tremendous and just so much fun to be with daily. We have a great support staff at Buffalo Ridge. My team and I are looking forward to a great year here in 2024/2025. My group will work with the 5th grade & 6th grade classes in the building and can be found helping in these rooms throughout the day.
