Freezing a row or column keeps it visible on the screen while you scroll through your spreadsheet.
To freeze a row:
Click on the row number you want to freeze (for example, Row 1).
Click View in the top menu.
Hover over Freeze.
Click 1 row (or Up to current row).
To freeze a column:
Click on the column letter you want to freeze (for example, Column A).
Click View in the top menu.
Hover over Freeze.
Click 1 column (or Up to current column).
✅ The frozen row or column will stay in place while you scroll.
Click on the cell where the average should appear.
Click the Functions button (Σ) in the toolbar.
Choose AVERAGE from the list of functions.
Highlight the cells that contain the points scored for the season.
Press Enter to insert the formula and calculate the average.
Click on the cell where the total (sum) should appear.
Click the Functions button (Σ) in the toolbar.
Choose SUM from the list of functions.
Highlight the cells you want to add together.
Press Enter to insert the formula and calculate the total.
Click the letter L at the top of the column to select the entire column.
Click Format in the top menu.
Hover over Number.
Click Round to 2 decimal places
(or use the Increase/Decrease Decimal Places buttons on the toolbar until there are two decimal places).
✅ All numbers in Column L should now show two decimal places.
Click on cell B37.
Click the Functions button (Σ) in the toolbar.
Select MAX from the list of functions.
Highlight the cells that contain the total yards for each team.
Press Enter to find the highest total yards.
Look at the number in B37 and find which team has that total yards value.
Type the name of that team in cell C37.
Click on cell B39.
Click the Functions button (Σ) in the toolbar.
Select MIN from the list of functions.
Highlight the cells that contain the number of penalties for each team.
Press Enter to find the lowest number of penalties.
Look at the value in B39 and find which team has that number of penalties.
Type the name of that team in cell C39.
Select column B by clicking the letter B at the top.
Click Format in the top menu.
Choose Conditional formatting.
Under Format cells if, select Greater than.
Enter the cell that contains the average total points scored.
Choose a green background color.
Click Done.
✅ All values in column B that are greater than the average should now be highlighted in green.
Select cells A1:B33.
Click Insert in the top menu.
Choose Chart.
In the Chart editor, make sure the chart type is set to Column chart.
Check that the chart shows team names and the points scored.
Click and drag the chart so it is not covering any data.
