On October 6th, 2023, the North Rams hosted the Horace Greeley Quakers in New City, New York. The Ram Student Section flooded into the bleachers at around 6:00 pm to show their support for the Varsity Football squad. And the team, led by Coach Trongone, did not disappoint their fans. They blew out the Quakers by a score of 26-7, clinching their first win of the season.

During the summer, Coach Trongone selected Patrick Bankey (Jr.), Jaden Bigio (Jr.), Aidan Pompei (Sr.), Connor Nolan (Sr.) and Theo Ryan (Sr.) to be captains of the Varsity Football Team. These players showed great fight, strength, and teamwork in camp and were given the opportunity to lead their team this season.

On the offensive side of the ball, the Rams running and passing games were crucial to the win over the Quakers. Quarterback Theo Ryan threw for 69 yards. The leading scorer for the Rams was junior Ryan Collopy. He ran for two touchdowns and 39 yards. Aidan Pompei was the leading rusher with eleven carries for 110 yards and one touchdown. Captain Jaden Bigio also added to the Rams' score with one rushing touchdown. The stand-out performance of the night was from sophomore Jack Kavangh, who had 4 receptions for 67 yards. The leading pass catcher’s 27 yard reception over a defender in the 4th quarter made the crowd go wild, and sealed the deal for the Rams.

On the defensive side of the ball, the Rams held the Quakers to only 6 points due to Colin McGovern and Cian Barry. Senior Colin McGovern had two solo tackles and junior Cian Barry stood out with two interceptions on the day. Nothing was getting past the Rams defense on homecoming night.

The North Cheer, Dance, Band, and Student Section were loud and proud, cheering on their very own Varsity Football Team. It was an incredible way to officially end Spirit Week and Pep Rally. The next home game for the Clarkstown North Rams is on Friday, October 20th against their rivals, the Clarkstown South Vikings.
