The Holiday Spirt has Arrived to Rockland County

Get in the Holiday Spirit by enjoying festivities around Rockland county. With Christmas right around the corner, here are some merry events for you, your friends, and your family to enjoy!

The Jacob Blauvelt House


Visit the Jacob Blauvelt House, a farmhouse built in 1832, on Zucker Road in New City, for a holiday-inspired event mixed with Rockland County’s history. This tour features a walk through the house and its history by candlelight, and introduces guests to the Christmas traditions of the Dutch and an experience of Rockland County’s very own history. Bear Mountain Zoo:  “Berry Merry Holiday”


Bear Mountain offers a variety of holiday festivities.  You can visit the ice skating rink or watch as the bears wake up for Christmas morning.


On December 18th, 2021, the Bear Mountain Zoo is hosting a “Berry Merry Holiday” with the bears, and guests can watch as the bears unwrap delicious treats as their Christmas presents. Entry is free, but donations are appreciated. All donations go to the zoo and animals of Bear Mountain. In addition to this event, there are plenty of other fun activities to enjoy at Bear Mountain, including beautiful hiking trails, a merry-go-round, museums, and an ice rink.

Bear Mountain Ice Rink


The ice rink at Bear Mountain has public ice skating events and provides skates for rental. It is an outdoor ice rink with beautiful views of nature all around, so make sure to dress for the weather. On December 18th, 2021, at 2:00pm, Santa will make an appearance for an extra holiday feature.

RoCA, the Rockland Center for the Arts


Looking for unique gifts to give to loved ones? Visit RoCA, the Rockland Center for the Arts. From December 4th to December 23rd, they host a bazaar filled with handmade art from artists around Rockland County. Customers can purchase pottery, jewelry, and other handmade art forms for affordable prices.
