Midnights Mayhem With Ticketmaster

By Ava Brigando, Assistant Editor-in-Chief

On Tuesday, November 15th, Taylor Swift fans gathered on Ticketmaster to get their tickets for the “Eras Tour.” Tickets ranging between $50 and $500 ended up being resold for $700 and up. The Ticketmaster website crashed and many Swifties were left without tickets. Some Clarkstown North students even had their parents try to get tickets along with them. Students missed school and parents took off from work just to get tickets to the one and only Eras Tour.

Here are the experiences of some of our students:

“My mom did it for me, she was really anxious, and she took off from work to do it”- Rorie Newburger

“My friend was in the queue for 3 and a half hours and she got tickets, but my mom was in the queue for 5 and a half hours and when she clicked on tickets, the website crashed”- Shannon Choi

“My friend’s dad was in the queue for 5 hours, nothing crashed, and he was able to get bad seats for two shows”- Lorelai Mathew

“I never received a presale code and couldn’t even get tickets”- Ava Brigando

Ticketmaster then canceled the regular general sale because tickets were sold out.

I know I for one was very disappointed since I never got the chance to try in general sale. While Rorie, Shannon, Lorelai, and many others were able to get tickets, most of the blame, from our students at least, seems to be on Ticketmaster. If you got tickets, congratulations, you survived “The Great War!” - Ava Brigando
