They're creepy and they're kooky. Mysterious and spooky. They're all together ooky. The Addams Family at Clarkstown North took place on March 21, March 22, and March 23, featuring our talented and hard-working students.

Starting in January, these students began their hard-work on the Addams Family, a musical comedy. The show centers around the Addams Family, a strange and eerie family who loves all things weird and spooky, and came to Clarkstown North's stage thanks to the hard work of Timothy Reid, the advisor of Cue and Curtain.

In the world of the Addams Family, to be sad is to be happy, to feel pain is to feel joy, and death and suffering are the stuff of their dreams. The Addamses have lived by their unique values for hundreds of years and Gomez and Morticia would be only too happy to continue living that way. Their daughter Wednesday, however, is now an eighteen year-old young woman who is ready for a life of her own. She has fallen in love with Lucas Beineke, a sweet boy from a normal family.

In one fateful night, secrets are disclosed, relationships are tested, and the Addams family must face up to the one horrible thing they’ve managed to avoid for generations: change.

Check out this interview between Finn Thompson (The Moon) and Miranda Arras (viewer) and Gianna Maltbie, Around-the-Horn Editor.

Gianna: What was your favorite part of the Addams Family?

Finn: My favorite part of the show was probably when I got to play the Moon because I got to play with the character and interact with Fester. It was really fun.

Miranda: I really liked the costumes. They really fit the characters well and the sets were amazing and really intricate. There was a lot of dancing and singing that was really great.

Gianna: What was your favorite song in the show?

Finn: My favorite song was probably “When You’re An Addams.” It was such a fun and energetic way to open the show.

Miranda: My favorite song was “Waiting.” It had a big shock factor and it was really powerful. It was so exciting and fun.

Gianna: How do you feel about the Addams Family being your last show?

Finn: I feel so happy that my last show was such a funny show with a great cast and great backstage atmosphere.

We are so proud of all the hard work that was put into the show and applaud Cue & Curtain for their dedication to theater. Congratulations to the graduating seniors, Zachary Degen, Madeline Chittum, Pedro Aguilar, Zoe Abrams, Finn Thompson, and Dylan Marvin for all their talent and work. Also, thank you to Mr. Reid and everyone who helped with the production! We can’t wait to see what they do next.
