Students in CCSD grades K-5 have been granted access to DreamBox Learning, an online, Intelligent Adaptive Learning(tm) program that helps all students achieve greater math growth. Access LP's Dreambox here.

When at school, students generally use Dreambox either in the computer lab or in their classroom. In most cases, the students are able to use the program without adult interaction. However, there are a few things you need to know.

Let your child do the work:

DreamBox is constantly assessing your child’s answers to understand what they’ve mastered and what they have yet to learn. If you provide too much overt assistance, answer for your child, or let a sibling or friend play on their account, the program will not work effectively. Let your child work through lessons independently. If your child turns to you for assistance with a DreamBox Learning problem, try some of these approaches:

Encourage your child to make his or her best guess. Remind them it’s OK to make some mistakes. We learn a lot from the types of mistakes they make and will respond accordingly. (Really!)

Click the “Help” button in the upper right corner of the game window.

Click the “Help” button again. The second click provides more detailed instructions. Also, keep in mind that a student is not penalized for clicking "Help", so they should be encouraged to click it as many times as they need to.

Ask your child to explain the game to you. Sometimes talking it through like this will give them the answer.

DreamBox is an online program - there's no software to download!

All you need is a high-speed Internet connection and Adobe Flash. Adobe Flash is free and is included with many Internet browsers. Your child can access DreamBox Learning from any computer, 24 hours a day,7 days a week using this link:
