The Invention and Design Convention is a home based project designed to help students’ problem solving skills through the invention and design process. Each participating student is expected to develop an original idea for an invention from the concept stage to a completed model project. Participates must be in grades 1 through 6.

Divisions: Grades 1 through 6 will each be a separate division

Date: Tuesday, March 26th 2019

Time: 4:00 p.m.-6:00 p.m.

Location: Felix Festa Middle School, Black and White Cafeteria

Parental Role: The concept of the design must be the student’s own. However, parents may assist in the constructing of models.

Criteria for judging are three-fold:

• Originality of idea
• Usefulness of the idea
• Oral explanation and presentation of the idea by the student

Registration deadline March 8, 2019

NOTE: No team entries are permitted, only one entry per student.
