Email Correspondence: I check my email throughout the day. It is a great way to get instant feedback to your questions or comments, and I encourage you to contact me this way. My email address is reedg@k12tn.net. If you cannot communicate through email, you may send me a short note through your child’s folder, or call me at the school at (931) 484-7400.
Report Cards: Report cards are issued every nine weeks.
Progress Reports: Progress reports with grades for each subject will be sent home very four and a half weeks.
Binders: Each child has a binder that will be sent home daily. Each side of the binder is labeled “Return” and “Take Home”. These binders will be sent daily for homework, completed and graded class work, and important notes. Please check for your child’s binder!
Absences: When your child is absent, he or she is responsible for making up their work.

2 Below Expectations/Basic

Assessments: Assessments will be given in the following subject areas--Phonics, Math, Reading--as a measure of understanding. Tests will include multiple-choice and fill-in- the-blank.
Homework: Homework will be given on Mondays unless you child does not complete work in class. ALL homework is due on FRIDAY of the given week.

Snacks: Snacks are 50 cents daily. You may send money daily, weekly, or monthly. The cafeteria will provide us with healthy snacks and we will have ice cream on Fridays as a special treat for hard work.
Snacks & Celebrations: If you are planning to bring in a snack of any kind, please let me know at least 24 hours before so I can plan for it.
Conferences: Parent/Teacher conferences are held after school (usually 3:00-6:00 PM) twice a year. During each conference, we will discuss your child’s academic performance and social progress. Additional conferences may be scheduled if a need arises. Please feel free to schedule a conference at any time throughout the year if you wish to meet with me.
