Class overview
Basic principles and concepts of chemistry are discussed in this course. Students will examine topics about the atom, chemical reactions, solutions, acids and bases, nomenclature, compounds, bonding, gases, and nuclear chemistry. The laboratory experiences are an essential part of the course and are related to the topics and concepts discussed in class. A lab notebook will be required for each lab and must include a discussion of the results and an analysis of the data.

90-100 A Tests 40%
80-89 B Daily grades 40%
70-79 C Term Exam 20 %

● Lab safety is mandatory. Failure to follow lab protocol will result in a zero for the day and no participation in future labs.
