Meet the Librarian

Hello! My name is Mrs. Shannon O'Neal, and I am your librarian at Stone Memorial High School.  It is an honor and privilege to serve the students and teachers for the 2023-2024 school year.

Three years ago, I moved to Cookeville from Clinton, Kentucky. My husband is an IT technician at Tennessee Tech. We have two dogs named Chloe and Willow.

Most of my education was completed at Gleason School where grades K-12 were all underneath one building. I graduated from Gleason High School in 2002 and began attending Bethel University shortly after. There I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education (K-8). In 2015, I completed my master's in School Library Media from East Tennessee State University.

This will be my 18th year in education. Previously, I taught grades 2-4 in Martin, Tennessee. My longest tenure was in 3rd grade which was my absolute favorite! This year, I really look forward to instilling a love of reading in your child.

In my free time, I enjoy decorating, cooking, shopping, watching movies, and of course reading! I am a bit of a Pinterest addict which can always keep me busy!
