Mrs. Jacy Schneider

5th Grade Teacher, College Wood Elementary School

I spent the first part of my life growing up in Ft. Wayne, Indiana. In 1992, my parents and I moved to Hamilton County, and since then, I have lived in the surrounding area. I attended DePauw University, and graduated with a degree in Communications, focusing on journalism, and a minor in Spanish. After working for a year and feeling unsatisfied with my career choice, I decided to go back to school to obtain my teaching license through Ball State University. This is my fifteenth year of teaching, having spent all of those years at College Wood Elementary. I completed my Masters in 2008, obtained my endorsement for teaching High Ability students, and although I was working on obtaining my Doctorate with a focus in research and High Ability education, I have taken a break from my studies. When I am not teaching, I enjoy spending time running, reading, watching football, listening to music, spending time with my husband, spending time with my two children, and playing with our dogs, Remington, a Weimaraner, and Sadie, a German Shorthaired Pointer. I am very excited to share the classroom with you this year, to work alongside your family, and to get to know you better...we are going to have a great year!

College Wood Elementary School utilizes Canvas as the primary source of communication with families. Please log in to Canvas to access my courses.
