The CCS Starters Program is Covenant Christian School's Early Childhood Education Program; including ages 3 years old through Kindergarten.
We believe children are made in God’s image and that if you, as Proverbs 22:6 says, "start children off on the way they should go when they are old they will not turn from it." Our educators recognize the importance of building Godly character traits within a child and putting that at the forefront of learning. We believe in recognizing and cultivating the multiple ways of thinking, playing, exploring, speaking and doing of a child.
Enrolling in our Starters Program follows the enrollment process of Covenant Christian School. Simply click on the button below to redirect you to our 'Admissions' page.

Matthew 18:2-5: "He called a little child to him, and placed the child among them. And he said: 'Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven.'"
Kindergarten is intentionally part of our Starters Program because it is still very much early childhood. According to Developmentally Appropriate Practices, early childhood encompasses birth to eight years of age. Our program is play-based and provides these students with intentional opportunities to learn through play. Children experience authentic interactions with godly leadership, collaboration, and deep problem-solving through play. Therefore, we incorporate a Montessori component by mixing age groups. Embracing this age of play and imagination is critical to our program. In the words of Mr. Rogers, "Play is the work of children."
All of our Early Childhood staff has minimally completed their CDA or is actively working toward completion which is in compliance with the State of Michigan lead teacher qualifications - some of our staff has exceeded these requirements.
The main goal of spiritual formation in the Starters Program is to communicate to our students that Jesus wholeheartedly and unconditionally loves them. In addition, we want to guide them in the reciprocation of this love through their actions, prayer, and praise which is practiced through the fruits of the Spirit, intentional quiet time, and daily worship.
