Welcome to Culpeper Middle School! Your CMS Counselors are looking forward to this school year and getting to know your children.
As their counselor, we are here to help guide them with academic, emotional, social, and career related concerns. We reach students through classrooms, individual counseling, and small group counseling.
Throughout the year, we will be present with your students in different ways. As counselors, we will interact with students through classroom lessons. We all touch base with students early in the fall so that they know who we are, why we are here, and how we can help. In 6th grade, we will be doing classroom lessons focusing on bullying and cyberbullying. We will also introduce 6th grade students to careers and career clusters. Seventh grade also will have a lesson focusing on career development and exploration, and students will meet with their counselor to discuss future academic plans. Students will use the Naviance Student website to explore careers and store their Academic Plans. All CCPS students will use this site from middle school through high school graduation.
