Canvas For Students

Welcome to the CCPS Canvas guide for Parents. The items on the site are designed to help guide you through the start of using the Canvas Learning Management System. Please walk through the steps to get started.

Step 1: Logging into Canvas

Students will need to log in using their CCPS issued Chromebook and follow the login video to the right.

Students should not need to enter a user name or password to access Canvas once logged in on their CCPS Chromebook.

Step 2: Watch the Canvas Student Overview Video

While ultimately your teacher's setup will determine how you interact with Canvas, this Canvas Overview Video for Students will provide a good overview about how Canvas works.

Step 3: Additional Resources Canvas User Guides (optional)

While you may not need all of this information to get started, you can review additional user guides about a multitude of Canvas related topics at https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Student-Guide/tkb-p/student . Below is a list of topics covered in these guides. Please note that your teacher may not make use of all of these functions in Canvas.



Step 4: Setup the Canvas Student App (optional)

Students interested in accessing their Canvas account from a mobile device my do so with their parent's permission. The video to the right highlights the steps needed to install and connect the app.

Please note, students will need to use the Culpeper County Public Schools link (in the find schools section) to connect. They will then login in with their @ccpsweb.org account information.
