Mr. Broyles has been in education for just a short 28 years and has enjoyed opportunities to teach, sponsor clubs, coach, and work with students to achieve every kind of interest and goal. Originally from the Tidewater region, Mr. Broyles grew up on his family farm before serving in the USCG. While serving his country he attended community college and then transferred to Virginia Tech to earn his BS in Education. He further obtained his Master’s in Administration and Supervision from VCU. Mr. Broyles credits much of his desire to work in education to his mom, a 34 year veteran high school chemistry teacher, and his father, with 50+ years as a machinist..both tremendous teachers.
Mr. Broyles enters his 12th year as principal of Monacan and is the proud father of two Chesterfield County Public Schools graduates, one being a 2019 Monacan Chief and he is married to a Class of 86’ graduate! Mr. Broyles enjoys working with students and faculty, water sports of all kinds, mountain biking, and teaching whenever and wherever the opportunity is at!

Dr. Gifford earned his B.A. in Government from the University of Texas, his B.Ed. from the University of Michigan, his M.T. from Virginia Commonwealth University, and his Master’s endorsement in Administration from Virginia State University. Before becoming a principal, Dr. Gifford taught social studies. Having traveled widely in the United States and teaching English in East Asia, he has a keen interest in culture, diversity, and education.

Ms. Butler is entering her 21st year of education. Before transitioning into Administration Ms. Butler taught chemistry at Varina High School for 13 years.
She is a graduate of The College of William and Mary. In her free time she enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.

Dr. Rhew earned her B.A. in Social Sciences at Longwood University and her M.Ed. and Ed.D. from Liberty University. Dr. Rhew began teaching at New Life School and then served as the middle school principal at Fuqua School. When Dr. Rhew joined CCPS, she taught VA/US History and Government while serving as the department chair at Carver College and Career Academy. She then joined the Titans as Dean of Students at Cosby High School.
In her free time, Dr. Rhew enjoys spending time with her husband, son, and two standard poodles.

Gillian Anderson began her education career as a Librarian with the Virginia Department of Correctional Education in 2005. She became the Head Librarian at Monacan High School in 2013. In the 8 years since, the Library program transformed into an active hub of the school welcoming and serving all students. Ms. Anderson also sponsored a variety of clubs within the school and helped lead the TRIBE mentor program.
Gillian Anderson earned her Bachelor's degree in English and Secondary Education from Mary Washington, her Master's degree in Library Science from Catholic University, and her Administration Certificate from VCU. Besides her Monacan family, Ms. Anderson shares her life with her husband Kevin and their 4 children. She enjoys Liverpool soccer, Phillies baseball, cooking, hiking, and traveling.
