Purpose
The purpose of this meeting is to allow parents and their students the opportunity to learn more about the many facets of selecting courses/levels for the 2020-2021 school year and beyond. The Electives Fair that will be provided at this meeting is intended for rising freshmen.

Advanced Placement & Dual Enrollment Panel
Arrive at 6:00 p.m. to listen to a panel of current students, recent graduates, and Matoaca HS teachers who will share their knowledge and experience about taking Advanced Placement (AP) and Dual Enrollment (DE) courses in high school in order to earn transferable college credits.
- How many college courses should your student take in a year?
- What’s the difference between AP and DE courses?
Parents of students whose PSAT score reports indicated that they have “AP Potential” in identified subject areas are encouraged to attend this panel presentation.

The Scheduling Process
All parents will benefit from this School Counseling presentation of the Scheduling Timeline, Graduation/Diploma Requirements, and the StudentVue Course/Level Selection Process. All students scheduled to attend Matoaca High School in 2020-2021 will select their 2020-2021 courses/levels in StudentVue by mid-February. Parents will be able to view the selected courses/levels in ParentVue.

JTCC Programs
Parents and students who are interested in learning more about John Tyler Community College programs offered may choose to remain in the auditorium to learn from representatives from John Tyler Community College about the CCPS Early College Academy, the JTCC Dual Enrollment Program, and the JTCC Concurrent Enrollment Program.

Learn more about the courses that are offered through the Chesterfield County Public Schools Online Academy. A representative from CCPSOnline Academy will be here to present the Academy to you and to address your concerns.

Learn more about the courses that are offered at the Chesterfield Career & Technical Center.

- What questions/concerns do you have about how taking courses at the “Tech Center” will work in your student’s schedule of courses?
- A representative from the CCPS Career and Technical Center will present their programs and address your concerns.
The CCTC field trip for Matoaca High School’s sophomores is scheduled for February 7th. Juniors and their parents and/or parents of sophomores can participate in a CCTC Orientation on Saturday, February 8th.
