Conditional formatting is a spreadsheet tool that allows you to format a cell or range of cells. Formatting changes will depend upon the value of the cell (what is in the cell) or the value of a formula (the answer to the formula inside the cell).
Conditional formatting is simply applying a rule to a cell or range of cells that changes the cell background and text colors based on the value of the cell or the value of the formula in that cell.
Teachers can see at a glance who is understanding the concepts being reviewed and who is not. Because conditional formatting colors in cells based on student responses, teachers are able to analyze data within seconds of looking at it.
