MISSION:

At STEP, we are dedicated to providing immersive instruction that empowers our students to gain the skills necessary to be independently employed. Our mission is to foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and continuous improvement that leads to successful employment.STEP allows students the opportunity to develop independent vocational skills through instruction based on the Maryland Career Development Framework and the Maryland Career and Work Readiness Standards and Competencies in the following school-based work environments: screen printing, embroidery, laser engraving, and heat press.

REQUIREMENTS:

Students participating in STEP must:

Be a student with an Individualized Education Program who is enrolled in a Cecil County Public High School
Be enrolled in STEP for their last two years before exiting high school
Have community based, independent employment reflected in the transition plan of their IEP
Be referred by his/her home school building coordinator using the Building Coordinator Referral Form
