What We Do

CCLASP provide specialist and tailored support to families across Scotland as we understand from personal experience that finding out that your child has a long term or incurable illness is distressing, frightening, and confusing and children are often robbed of their ‘normal’ childhoods whilst undertaking invasive treatment.

Childhood cancer and leukaemia not only affects the lives of children and young people but touches parents, siblings, and the broader family. Normal life stops when you receive the devastating news that your child has cancer and we try to limit the consequences this can have financially, emotionally, and practically.

Our job? To try and raise smiles when times are difficult and arrange the care and support that is crucial, whether it’s free bespoke transport to hospital appointments, or just somebody to talk to.

Transport “The free transport service at CCLASP is invaluable. I can give all my attention to Sophie rather than the stress of trying to drive whilst she’s feeling poorly and being in the adapted minibus takes her mind off what’s ahead.”
Holiday and Trips “We had a lovely time away in Seton Sands, it was just what we needed as a family. The accommodation provided by CCLASP really is a lifeline and gives us quality time together away from the worry of treatment for a while.”
Events “We were overwhelmed by the effort that went into the Christmas party. The boys had a ball. James didn't stop talking about it until he fell asleep and said it was the best day of his life!”
Play and Distraction Therapy “A wonderful charity that support the whole family during difficult times. CCLASP do a great job of distracting children, including siblings, from the painful journey they undertake during and also after treatment is finished.”
Family Support “When families might be facing the toughest battle for their child, CCLASP will be there to help whenever, and for as long as you need them and you will never feel alone.”
