The 5th generation mobile communication technology
The latest generation of cellular mobile communication technology, which is also an extension after 4G (LTE-A, WiMax), 3G (UMTS, LTE) and 2G (GSM) systems.
5G's performance goals are high data rates, reduced latency, energy savings, reduced costs, increased system capacity, and large-scale device connectivity.
The first phase of the 5G specification in Release-15 is to accommodate early commercial deployments.
The second phase of Release-16 will be completed in April 2020 and submitted to the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as a candidate for IMT-2020 technology. The ITU IMT-2020 specification requires speeds up to 20 Gbit / s (20000 Mbps), which can achieve wide channel bandwidth and high-capacity MIMO.
This is the speed of 5G.
According to a test from AT&T
The speed test on a mobile device is 1778.93 Mbps
However, it is not the MAX speed of 5G.
ITU IMT-2020 requires 5G speeds up to 20 Gbit / s (20000 Mbps)
Therefore, in the first year of 5G commercial use, many mobile phone manufacturers have begun to adopt SoCs that can connect to 5G signals. The stronger the SoCs performance, the faster the 5G connection speed will be.
There are three major differences between NSA and SA:
1) NSA does not have a 5G core network, and SA has a 5G core network. This is a key difference.
2) Under the NSA network, 5G and 4G are interconnected at the access network level, and the interconnection is complicated; under the SA network, the 5G network is independent of the 4G network, and 5G and 4G are only interconnected at the core network level, and interconnection is simple.
3) In the NSA network, the terminal is dual-connected with two wireless access technologies, LTE and NR; in the SA network, the terminal is connected with only one NR wireless access technology.
To put it simply, compared to SA, NSA lacks a new brain (5G core network), and it is still a bit of a drag on 5G-4G interconnection.
The seemingly simple architectural differences will involve a bunch of differences in performance indicators. These indicators mainly include network delay, uplink bandwidth, network agility, and service reliability. Let's talk about these performance differences.
Xiaomi Inc.
Xiaomi originally connected all devices with a mobile phone as the center, connected more than 140 million IoT devices, and ranked first in the world in the consumer Internet industry. At the beginning of 2020, Xiaomi proposed a "Mobile phone + AIoT (AI artificial intelligence + IoT Internet of Things)" dual-engine strategy.
Hainan and the People's Liberation Army General Hospital jointly completed a 5G remote brain surgery with a doctor in Hainan and a patient in Beijing. The surgical process uses 5G real-time ultra-low latency video transmission to complete the operation of implanting a pacemaker into Parkinson's patients.
On March 31 of 2020, China Mobile Hong Kong held a 5G commercial launch ceremony at its flagship store in Central, Hong Kong, China, and officially launched 5G services in the early hours of April 1.
This is also the first operator in Hong Kong, China to provide 5G services to individual and corporate customers. At present, China Mobile has built and opened 500 5G base stations in Hong Kong, China. The 5G network coverage in major areas such as Central and Western District, Wan Chai, and Causeway Bay exceeds 90%.
However, because 5G has not been fully popularized, package prices are a bit expensive. The starting price is HK $ 338 for 30GB Data, the highest is HK $ 638 for 300GB Data.
By the test record from HK01
The highest download speed result is about 936Mbps
The highest Upload speed result is about 98Mbps
