Function or Not a Function

Linear Functions:

1. The graph is a continuous straight line.

2. There is a constant rate of change.

3. The equation is written in intercept form (y=mx+b)

4. The variable has an exponent of 1 or 0

NonLinear Functions:

1. The graph is NOT a continuous straight line

2. There is NO constant rate of change.

3. The equation is NOT written in slope-intercept form.

4. The variable has an exponent OTHER THAN 1 or 0.
