Specialized High School

The nine Specialized High Schools are one way that New York City supports the educational needs of students who excel academically and/or artistically, including English Language Learners and students with an IEP or 504 Plan. 

Students must take the Specialized High School Admissions Test (SHSAT) to apply for the 8 Testing High Schools.

• High School of American Studies at Lehman College

• High School for Mathematics, Science and Engineering at City College of New York

• Stuyvesant High School

• The Brooklyn Latin School

• Brooklyn Technical High School

• Queens High School for the Sciences at York College

• Staten Island Technical High School

Audition School:

• LaGuardia High School

November 15-16, 2025: SHSAT Weekend Testing (Day 1)
