CCHS STEM F24 CAR Questions
What do you do?
During the club, we work on improving our car, and also use our practical skills to drive. This helps us prepare for races, where we drive around different tracks!
We race and it is quite fun to overtake people and have a good reaction speed at the start of the race which is very important. - Logan
What is driving like?
Driving is a super fun experience that is unlike any other form of transport. It is very fast paced and gives a great adrenaline rush!
What is the best race finish in the 2021/2022 season?
Our best result in this period was definitely Goodwood, as well as amazing driving and placing we also won an award for best portfolio!
How often do you race?
When it is the racing season, we drive about 2 or 3 races over the course of a couple months.
How does STEM teach you about engineering?
STEM teaches you important factor of engineering, including the basics and since we deal with cars, it delves into the deeper area for a small amount. - Daniel

Who runs the races?
Races are run by various tracks, and we are organised by the teachers - Mr Poynter, and Mr Bincyzk.
How fast does the car go?
The car goes up to a maximum speed of around 30mph.
Do we get to drive both cars?
Yes, you'll eventually get a go on each car!
How do I get involved?
To get involved, come along to A11 any Wednesday after school, and join in!

At what times do you have to be up in order to attend a race?
We meet at school anytime from 5am as some races can be a fair distance away!
