Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Happy Purim & Happy Holi to our families that celebrate!
Dear families,
I would like to start by thanking those parents who have volunteered to be part of our Parent Voice group which I intend to start after Easter. If you are interested in being involved, please email info@ccfplus.com and the intention is that the group will meet once per half term to discuss issues affecting our school community and to have a voice in what we are doing at CCF. I am pleased that we are also re-establishing our PFA and an initial meeting took place this week. Again, please email info@ccfplus.com if you would like to be a part of the PFA and support with fundraising and social events at the school.
This week has involved a number of events including our pupils who took part in the Barnet Dance Festival on Monday. It was clear from watching the rehearsal last Friday how much the pupils enjoyed preparing their routine and how hard they had worked. On Wednesday the English department took Year 10 pupils to watch a production of Macbeth. Thankfully the weather did not lead to the pupils being in “thunder, lightning or in rain” at the open-air Globe theatre so the pupils were able to enjoy the performance.
We also hosted our Friendship Afternoon this week to welcome the Year 6 pupils and parents who will be joining the CCF community in Year 7 in September. It was a lovely afternoon and, as usual, our pupils were excellent ambassadors and I would like to thank the Year 11 prefects and Year 7 pupils who supported the event and particularly thank Joseph, Eva and George for their excellent contributions during the presentation to Year 6 parents.
Finally, I hope you all have a lovely weekend and wish those of you who celebrate a Happy Holi and Happy Purim.
Kind regards,
Dr Ruth Hill
