Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Dear families,
As the warm weather looks set to continue into next week, pupils can continue to adjust their uniform for another week. I appreciate that parts of the building become very warm and Monday in particular looks set to be very hot so please encourage your child to bring a refillable water bottle and to use break and lunch time to top up their water.
Last Friday evening was the Year 11 prom which was a fantastic event and I am grateful to Ms Scott and Mrs McMorrow for organising the evening and to all the staff who attended to celebrate this milestone. The pupils looked fantastic and it was certainly a night to remember. Many Year 11 pupils were back at CCF on Monday for the Year 12 taster day (although dressed slightly differently) and we look forward to welcoming them back to the Sixth Form in September.
There have been a number of trips and visits again this week including: a Year 9 trip to the Natural History Museum on Tuesday, a Year 10 Geography trip to Walton-on-the-Naze, Sports Leaders have been supporting Chalgrove Primary School’s Sports Days, a Year 9 trip to the Imperial War Museum yesterday, and today is the first day of the Spanish trip. I know how much our pupils gain from these experiences and I am grateful to the staff who organise and lead such trips.
Ms Scott and I hosted this half-term’s Parent Voice on Tuesday and I would like to thank the parents and carers who attended. We spoke about the curriculum and the information on our website which is there to support parents and pupils and we also discussed the rewards we issue at CCF which we are updating for September and will share with you in due course.
Thank you for your continued support and I hope you all have a lovely weekend.
Dr Ruth Hill
