Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
Dear families,
Firstly I would like to extend warm wishes of Eid Mubarak and Happy Nowruz to those of you who are celebrating today.
It has been another vibrant week at the school and we have been particularly impressed with the focus from our pupils preparing for assessments - both pupils in Years 11-13 preparing for their external examinations this summer and pupils preparing for internal assessments. I have been showing parents of Year 6 pupils who will be joining us in September around the school and our visitors have repeatedly commented on the atmosphere of dedicated learning they see during their visit. We also hosted a senior leader from another school this week who came to see the great things we do at CCF and he told me how impressed he was with the school’s strong ethos and family feel, and how clearly he could see the impact of the drive, passion and expertise of CCF staff in ensuring our pupils reach their undoubted potential.
I would like to thank parents/carers of Year 8 pupils who attended Year 8 parents’ evening on Wednesday and thank Mr Zanjani, Head of Year 8, for ensuring the evening ran successfully.
Next week is the final week of the spring term and Friday 27 March is a normal day before pupils are dismissed at the end of P3, ie. 12.30pm. A reminder that next week is our Parent Voice meeting on Tuesday 24 March, 6-7pm online. Please email info@ccpflus.com before the end of Monday 23 March should you wish to join so that we can share the link with you.
Finally, I am sure you join me in sending condolences to the families and friends of the two young people who have lost their lives in the meningitis outbreak in Kent. Further information is available from the government here and from Vaccination UK here. The advice for schools not impacted is to operate as normal; the MenB bacteria is not as contagious as other infections such as COVID-19 and transmission requires close and prolonged contact. Should parents/carers have any concerns, please do contact the school via info@ccfplus.com.
I would like to wish you all a peaceful weekend.
Kind regards,
Dr Ruth Hill
Headteacher
