Youth Mental Health Day - 19th September 2025
Share Support
Mental health concerns for young people have multiplied in recent times. Today, 1 in 5 8-25 year-olds have a diagnosable mental health disorder. Yet, only 40% are able to access effective treatment.
Though times continue to be difficult, Youth Mental Health Day 2025 (YMHD 2025) is here to provide hope and positivity. By getting young people engaged in discussions and activities about how to improve their mental health.

Reflection Room
A reminder that our Reflection Room is available - a peaceful and inclusive space designed to provide students with a quiet sanctuary for personal reflection, mindfulness, and spiritual practice. This is located in the drama loft studio and will be available to pupils during both lunch breaks.
Transition from Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
As part of our ongoing commitment to providing tailored support for every student, we are making a change to the way we document and implement support strategies for pupils with additional needs.
We are transitioning from Individual Education Plans (IEPs) to a "Know Me, Teach Me, Support Me" approach. This new approach is designed to be a concise and practical method to clearly outline specific strategies for teachers in the classroom to support your child’s learning and wellbeing.
Please note that some pupils will continue to have an IEP if the school determines that a more detailed plan remains appropriate for their level of need. This will typically be the case where external agency involvement, more complex needs, or statutory plans (such as EHCPs) are in place.
If you have any questions or would like to discuss how this change affects your child specifically, please don’t hesitate to contact the SENCo.

MEP Timetable 2025/26
Dear parents and students of the Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP),
Thank you for your continued effort and support of the programme. We are pleased to confirm that MEP lessons will begin in the week commencing Monday 6th October 2025. Care has been taken to avoid clashes with assembly times, and to ensure that each class has no more than one lesson scheduled during break or lunch.
Please find this academic year’s MEP timetable below. We kindly ask that you note the times and dates in your diaries and ensure punctual attendance, so that students can make the most of their learning opportunities.
To support students attending lessons during break or lunch, we encourage them to bring a snack or packed lunch. Where this is not possible, each MEP student will be issued with a break/lunch pass which will allow them to move to the front of the queue to purchase food during their designated MEP lesson times only.
If you have any concerns, or suggestions, please do not hesitate to contact me. We look forward to another successful year of the programme. Thank you.

Year 7 Mandarin Excellence Programme - Virtual Open Evening Wednesday 24th September
Dear Parents/Guardians,
I am delighted to invite all Year 7 pupils to apply for the Mandarin Excellence Programme (MEP), a nationwide intensive language programme initiated by the UCL Institute of Education. In the MEP, your child will study Mandarin for four hours a week until the end of Year 11, including some extra lessons outside their usual timetable. While the MEP is an intensive programme that requires strong commitment from both pupils and parents, there are ample enrichment opportunities, such as a tourism project, a Chinatown trip, and a BFI cinema trip.
A letter has been sent to all Year 7 parents’ email addresses. There will also be a virtual MEP Year 7 Open Evening on Wednesday 24th September, from 5:30 to 6:00 pm on Google Meet. The meeting will include a presentation about the MEP, followed by a Q&A session. Please join the meeting using your child’s school email credentials. The meeting link is: https://meet.google.com/aoy-knir-pcb.
We encourage you to attend the information evening to learn more about the MEP. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Ms Hong at y.hong@ccfplus.com.
Kind regards,
Ms Hong
