First-Aid Incidents and Medication Administration
To improve how we inform you about first-aid incidents and medication administration, Christ’s College Finchley will transition to a new online service called Medical Tracker over the next couple of weeks.
Key Benefits for Families
Instant Email Notifications: Receive immediate email updates whenever your child receives first aid or medication at school.
Comprehensive Incident Tracking: Ensures all medical support and treatments are logged clearly and accurately.
Enhanced Safety Protocols: Allows staff to analyse health data to continuously improve safety measures across the school.
Please be assured that Medical Tracker is registered with the Data Protection Registrar. All personal information remains completely private, secure, and strictly non-shareable with third-party organisations.
Important Action
Required Notifications from the new system will be sent from donotreply@medicaltracker.co.uk. To ensure you do not miss critical health updates, please add this address to your email contacts or approved senders list so messages are not blocked by spam/junk filters.

MyZone Lesson - Wednesday 23rd September
Year 7 – Balanced Diets
This Lesson covers...
What a balanced and varied diet actually means — beyond restrictive rules or “good” and “bad” foods.
The main nutrients our bodies need, including carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins, minerals, fibre and water.
How different nutrients support growth, energy, concentration, movement and everyday health.
Why our nutritional needs can change as we grow, develop and become more physically active.
How eating a variety of foods helps us get the nutrients our bodies need.
What can happen when our diet is consistently unbalanced, including effects on energy, physical health and wellbeing.
How cost, availability, culture, family life and the wider food environment can influence what people eat.
Challenging the idea that healthy eating means dieting, restriction or achieving a particular body shape — nutrition is about fuelling your body so you can live a healthy, active and fulfilling life.
Year 8 - Quantity and Quality of Food
This lesson covers...
What makes a food or drink nutritionally valuable, and why quality is about more than simply counting calories.
Understanding the difference between the quantity of food we eat and the nutritional quality of that food.
How to read food labels, including energy, protein, carbohydrates, fats, fibre, sugars and salt.
Comparing similar products and using nutritional information to make informed choices rather than automatically choosing the option with the fewest calories.
Understanding processed foods and why being processed does not automatically make a food “bad” or unhealthy.
How food choices can affect energy, concentration, physical performance, growth and overall wellbeing.
Challenging misleading food and nutrition claims online, including “healthy” marketing, diet trends and fear around particular foods or ingredients.
Recognising that healthy eating looks different for different people and is influenced by budget, access, culture, preferences and lifestyle — with the aim being to fuel your body, not control its size or shape.
Year 9 - Nutrition Myths Vs Reality
This lesson covers...
Exploring common myths about food, diets, calories, carbohydrates, fats, sugar and “healthy” eating.
Understanding why nutrition is complicated and why there is rarely a single food, ingredient or diet that is a magic solution.
Learning how to distinguish evidence-based nutrition advice from opinions, anecdotes, trends and sensational claims.
Evaluating the quality of scientific evidence behind nutrition claims and considering who produced the information and why.
Understanding how social media, influencers, advertising and algorithms can spread misleading or oversimplified nutrition messages.
Exploring how diet culture can create fear around food and contribute to guilt, restriction and unhealthy relationships with eating.
Considering how misinformation can affect people’s physical health, mental wellbeing, confidence and everyday food choices.
Developing practical skills to question nutrition claims and make informed choices that support health, energy and enjoyment of life rather than chasing a particular body shape.
Year 10 - Supporting My Health With Food and The Food Landscape
This lesson covers...
Understanding how nutrition, physical activity and other lifestyle factors contribute to maintaining a healthy weight and supporting long-term health.
Exploring the relationship between diet and health conditions such as cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, without reducing health to body weight alone.
Understanding how consistently eating patterns and overall diet can influence health over time.
Exploring the modern food landscape, including the availability and accessibility of different foods and how this shapes our choices.
Examining how advertising, packaging, social media and food marketing can influence what we buy, eat and believe about food.
Considering how cost of living, convenience, time, cooking skills and access to food can affect people’s ability to make choices that support their health.
Challenging diet culture and restrictive approaches to food, including unrealistic expectations around weight, appearance and the pressure to constantly change our bodies.
Developing realistic strategies for maintaining a positive relationship with food and making informed, flexible choices that support health, wellbeing, enjoyment and an active life.
Reminder: Free School Meals
Changes to Free School Meals (FSM) – Starting September 2026
Your child may be able to get free school meals if you get any of the following:
Universal Credit - if you apply on or after 1 April 2018 your household income must be £7,400 a year or less (after tax and not including any benefits you get)
income-related Employment and Support Allowance
support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999
the guaranteed element of Pension Credit
Children who get paid these benefits directly, instead of through a parent or guardian, can also get free school meals.
Your child may also get free school meals if you get any of these benefits and your child is both:
younger than the compulsory age for starting school
in full-time education
From the start of academic year 2026 to 2027, your child will qualify for free school meals if you get Universal Credit, regardless of household income.
If you do not qualify for most benefits (also known as having ‘no recourse to public funds’), your child may still be eligible for free school meals.
You must apply/re-apply this academic year to ensure that your child is receiving Free School Meals, please do so on the Government Website here if you have not done so already.

Reminder: MCAS
My Child At School (MCAS) is the platform the school uses to share information with parents regarding attendance, behaviour, attainment and school reports. MCAS can be accessed via the web or the MCAS App.
All parents should have an MCAS account to ensure they receive up-to-date information on their child. Login details were sent to all parents without accounts earlier last week. If you do not have an account, please contact mcas@ccfplus.com and login details will be emailed to you. Parents with existing accounts do not need to do anything, as accounts will roll over to this academic year.
Please note, the MCAS activation email comes from MCAS directly and not from a Christ's College email address. If you have not received this email, check your spam mailbox as well as your regular inbox.
