Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Dear families,
I am thrilled to share with families that we have been recognised in The Times Good School Guide once again this year. The Times has placed Christ’s College Finchley 272nd in their national ranking, up from 331st last year, recognising the exceptional outcomes pupils attained at GCSE and A Level and our strong attendance data. This is truly a testament to the hard work and dedication of the whole CCF community.
I am also delighted to share with you all the official CCF 2025 Christmas card (click here) with a beautiful painting by Grace, 10H. Mr Scott, Head of Art, shared a number of potential covers with me and the quality was incredibly strong but we both felt that Grace’s work was the worthy winner - well done Grace!
Next Friday 12 December we are taking part in Save the Children’s Christmas Jumper day. Pupils can wear a Christmas jumper and non-school uniform and a donation of £2 is requested via ParentPay. The day will be a normal school day and therefore pupils must dress appropriately, for example, pupils must wear clothing that covers their midriff and avoid strappy tops and high-heeled shoes. Any make-up or jewellery must be subtle and there can be no offensive logos/wording on clothing. Should pupils arrive in clothing that is not appropriate, we will ask families to drop off a change of clothes and pupils will be out of circulation until they are able to change. We finish the autumn term on Friday 19 December and pupils will be dismissed at 12.30pm, although they can eat lunch in the canteen before they leave should they wish to do so.
There have been a number of assessments this week including Year 12 assessments and Year 11 practical and language mock examinations. Year 11 pupils begin their written mock examinations next week and I know that the pupils are working hard, supported by their families and school staff, towards these important assessments. Next week we have the Year 12 reward presentation on the afternoon of Thursday 11 December which is a celebration of the pupils’ achievements and I am looking forward to seeing families of Year 12 pupils at the event.
Finally, I would like to wish you all a lovely weekend.
Kind regards,
Dr Ruth Hill
