Updates for the Parents/Carers of Christ’s College Finchley
TABLE OF CONTENTS
Dear families,
Our Sixth Form Open Evening takes place 6-9pm on Tuesday 25 November 2025 and we are looking forward to welcoming our Year 11 pupils, accompanied by parents/carers, to the event. There will be a talk from Mr Scott, Head of Sixth Form, and me, at 6.15pm and talks from teachers of A-level subjects and a marketplace to find out more information about each of the subjects we offer and the support available in the Sixth Form. Please click here for more information about the evening.
In order to prepare for the evening, we will close early for pupils on Tuesday 25 November 2025: pupils in Years 10-13 will be dismissed at 1.30pm and pupils in Years 7-9 at 2.05pm. Should you require your child to remain on site until their usual finish time, please email info@ccfplus.com and we will organise for your child to be supervised until 3.05pm. I would also like to remind families that we have our next INSET day on Wednesday 26 November 2025.
We have had a number of external visitors to the school this week as part of our collaboration with other schools through the Challenge Partners programme. As ever, our pupils have been our best ambassadors and the leaders from other schools who were part of the visit commented positively on the calm and purposeful environment in the school and were particularly impressed when speaking with our pupils.
This week also saw Year 12 and Year 13 parents’ evening and I am grateful to the parents who attended to support pupils during these key years of their education.
On Tuesday the whole school paused for two minutes at 11am to remember those who sacrificed so much so that we have our freedom. The names of those former CCF pupils who made the ultimate sacrifice in the two world wars are part of our Sarabi Hall and it is vital that we take the time to pause and reflect so that we can try to learn lessons from our past.
Last Friday saw the school production of Macbeth at the King Alfred Phoenix Theatre. It was an incredible performance and a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to showcase their hard work in the state-of-the art theatre and I would like to thank the families who attended and the staff who supported, particularly Miss Highton and Mr Nolan, who ensured the evening was a real success.
Next Tuesday 18 November 2025 is the next meeting of our Parent Voice. Please email info@ccfplus.com if you would like to join this group before the end of Monday 17 November 2025. Those parents who are already members do not need to confirm that they intend to attend.
Finally, I would like to wish the whole community a lovely weekend.
