Perceivable

Ensure that everyone is able to perceive your content even if they access information in a non-typical way

• Alt Text: Textual description for images
• Alternatives for Audio & Video Content:
  • Video captions are present
  • Transcripts are available for sound files.
• Descriptive & Meaningful Links: Create and simplify hyperlinks
• Color Contrast & Meaning: Ensure text can be easily read against the chosen colored background

Operable

Allow users to access information using a variety of devices

• Enough Time to read, interact, or use content
• Keyboard Accessible functionality
• Seizures avoid designing content which could cause a seizure
• Navigable
  • Apply Headings
  • Apply Table Headers
  • Use video and audio players that give users the option to play, pause, or stop

Understandable

All content should be:

• Understandable
• Clear & concise
• Allow users to explore it at their own pace

• Readable simplify text content; avoid idioms
• Lists use as necessary
• Multiple Methods of Delivery
  • Providing supplemental representations of info. can increase understandability. Text can be supplemented with illustrations, videos, animations, & audio.
• Predictable Navigation which operate in a consistent way

Robust

Ensure that what you develop can be used by:

• Reasonably outdated & current
• anticipated technology standards
• Assistive Technologies

• Compatible with other products including assistive technologies:
  • Screen Readers
  • Magnifiers
  • Cognitive Aids , etc.
