Scams

A scam is any means someone uses to get you to part with your money. It is not always easy to spot a con or scam artist. But scammers know how to get around our better judgment. They play on our emotions or promise big payoffs to get us to act. Scammers also pose as people, agencies, and companies you know and trust.

Phishing

Phishing is the fraudulent practice of sending emails or other messages purporting to be from reputable companies in order to induce individuals to reveal personal information, such as passwords and credit card numbers.

Data Breaches

A Data Breach is an incident where information is stolen or taken from a system without the knowledge or authorization of the system’s owner. A small company or large organization may suffer a data breach. Stolen data may involve sensitive, proprietary, or confidential information such as credit card numbers, customer data, trade secrets, or national security matters.

Malware

Malware is any software intentionally designed to cause disruption to a computer, server, client, or computer network, leak private information, gain unauthorized access to information or systems, deprive access to information, or which unknowingly interferes with the user's computer security and privacy.
