Hello, everyone!
My name is Kaitlyn VanZuiden (Mrs. V), and I am honored to be your child's fifth-grade English Language Arts teacher. I grew up in the small town of Quincy, Illinois, and have been blessed to spend my educational journey immersed in Catholic education, attending Catholic elementary school, high school, and graduate school. I earned my Master of Education in December 2019 before moving back to Lawrence, Kansas, with my husband, who serves as a Staff Sergeant in the Kansas Army National Guard. After returning to Lawrence, I began substitute teaching at Corpus Christi and quickly fell in love with the school's welcoming community, strong sense of faith, and commitment to academic excellence. When a fifth-grade teaching position became available, I was thrilled to join the faculty, and I have been grateful to call Corpus Christi home ever since. Outside of the classroom, my husband and I are proud parents to two wonderful children, Remington and Cosette, who have been our greatest blessings and continually remind us of the joy and purpose found in family. I am passionate about helping students grow not only as readers and writers but also as compassionate, confident, and faith-filled individuals. I look forward to partnering with you throughout the school year as we support your child's academic, personal, and spiritual growth. Please know that open communication is very important to me. If you ever have questions or concerns, don't hesitate to reach out. I look forward to getting to know each of you and sharing a wonderful year together!
Hello! I am excited to join the middle school world. I have enjoyed this age group as a teacher for 12 years in Lawrence Public Schools. My K-9 Education degree from the University of Kansas also includes an endorsement in English as a Second Language.
My family includes my husband, Josh, our sons, Will and Andre and daughter Demoree. We are a sports fan family and love participating in Lawrence community events.
