Hi and Welcome to CCP!
I’m Mrs. McKenzie and I will be your College and Career Promise Advisor here at Lee County High School. Hopefully, we have connected already! My office is moving into the guidance suite this year. I am on campus Monday – Friday unless otherwise posted on my office door. Each semester we will work together to make sure you are a successful college student! You can find lots of information located on the LCHS website page – teacher pages and find my name. If in doubt always ASK!
A little bit about me ….. I LOVE helping high school students – you all are my favs! I also love seeing you all out and about so please say hello. I’ve had lots of conversations about college and classes in drive-thru windows and registers at stores I live in Sanford, with my husband and you will see pictures in my office of our big family (6 kids, a daughter & son in law, and 3 granddaughters)! In the office, you will find me listening to a crime podcast, with a coffee mug, a water cup, and a Diet Coke.
My TOP 3 rules for success: 1) Read information thoroughly – starting with this email and then your course syllabus (when your class opens). Check and read your email every, single, day! Important information is in there! 2) Don’t wait or procrastinate. College due dates are actual due dates and instructors do give zeros and don’t accept late work! 3)Communicate – I don’t know what’s going on unless you tell me (or your instructor).
You are registered for CCCC classes for the fall semester if you are receiving this email. This email has TONS of important information to get you started for the semester. Please read through all the information very carefully. The orientation answers 99% of your questions, if you ask me something that I know was in the orientation material, I will advise you to go back to that information to find the answer.
Read the CCP Orientation presentation attached (WELCOME TO CCP ORIENTATIONPPT) This will answer 99% of the questions you will ask me (start dates, textbooks, log-in info, grades) - if you ask me something that is answered in the orientation I will recommend you go back to it. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE READ IT!
Make sure you join REMIND: Text @lcccp2425 to phone number 81010 OR Text @lcccp2425- to phone number 81010.

Schedules
As a part of the Orientation, you will log into the Portal. Once you are in the Portal, you will be able to see your schedule in SELF-SERVICE. CHECK your schedule very carefully. Look at the days/times. See if it is online (will say DIST) or if you are still in a seated section. Seated sections will have a day/time listed. A reminder that courses only appear in BLACKBOARD the day the course starts! You should see a high school block labeled "CCCC on your high school schedule."
WHAT TO DO IF POWERSCHOOL IS INCORRECT: Please let LCHS know asap!
WHAT TO DO IF YOUR CC SCHEDULE IS INCORRECT IN SELF-SERVICE: Contact me ASAP via email or come see me July 30 from 12-3!
Reminder about LCS policy on withdrawing:
If you withdraw or are withdrawn from a CCP course this semester, LCHS will then place you in an APEX online course. This is a high school policy. If your CCP class was designated "off-campus" you will be required to return to school for the block to finish your APEX course. This course (and grade) will be reflected in your high school transcript. If you have questions about the policy please see your guidance counselor or about withdrawing please see me.
TEXTBOOKS: Please check your syllabus on the first day to see what you need!
Included - You will have access to all your required course materials in Blackboard on the first day of class. Nothing else to do!
Code - This means your course will utilize an online book/materials that I will purchase for you - DO NOT BUY IT :) It will be sent only via REMIND text.
Textbook- You will need a physical textbook for your course and will need to pick that up from me.
PARKING PASS- If you are parking at CCCC and/or have a seated course please go and get a parking pass. These are free for CCP students, but please have your CCCC Student ID number handy! The business office is located (on the map attached) in building 9!
