Welcome to the start of a great year of pre-k! My name is Taylor Mapp and Mrs. Debbie McCarthy and I are so excited to be your child's teachers this year. We are looking forward to watching them learn and socialize with their classmates and to see all the wonderful things they accomplish. Our class thrives on trying new things, engaging and positive conversations, and a whole lot of laughter! I believe open communication between teachers and parents helps our students reach their full potential- please feel free to email me with any questions or concerns you may have! We are a team and I want to know all about your child because you know them best!

I was born and raised in Appling, Georgia and graduated from Greenbrier High School in 2012. I have spent the majority of my adult life working with children and began working in the Columbia County school system in January of 2021. I began working as a Special Education Paraprofessional in a Pre-K classroom at Westmont Elementary School. During that time I worked to complete my Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education at Western Governor's University and completed the GACE Special Education General Curriculum exam. After completing my student teaching at North Columbia Elementary School in March of 2023, I applied to return to teach at my own beloved elementary school! "Once a dragon, always a dragon!"

My husband and I have been married for 11 years and have a 7 year old son and a small zoo of rescue animals! We enjoy camping, playing chess, thrift shopping, and movie nights at home. In my spare time you can find me wandering Joanne's for yarn, fabric, and vinyl. I'm a crafter at heart!  

Mrs. Debbie is my amazing paraprofessional! She is so energetic, kindhearted, and engaging- I feel so lucky to have her as my teammate this school year. She has been married to her best friend for 31 years and together they share 4 children. She loves spending time lounging by the pool, reading, and spending time outdoors!
