Hi, my name is April Sturgell. I am excited to be your child’s First Grade Teacher! This will begin my 21st  year of teaching. My husband (Todd) and I have 2 sons, Ashton and Grayson. I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Music from Lee University. I have my Early Childhood Education Certification. I also have a Masters Degree in Education with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy, and a Specialists Degree in Elementary Education . 

I love to teach, and I was awarded the honor of Teacher of the Year in 2017.  I was then named in the Top Five teachers in Columbia County. What an honor!   

I absolutely love teaching first grade at Stevens Creek! We will work hard and play hard while putting a love of learning and a kind classroom community first. My goal is to make learning fun and to inspire a lifelong love of learning for my students. I am excited to make this the best year yet! I look forward to working with you and your child this year.
