Get to Know Coach Sneeringer

Welcome to my Webpage!  I want to give you all a little background information to help you all get to know me a little better.  I was born and raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in Levittown.  I grew up with a younger brother (who is also an Educator in Philly) and as part of a very large family.  My parents divorced when I was very young and my mother remarried when I was a senior in High School.  My Grandmother lived with us from the time I was 12 until her passing (I was already away and in adulthood).  As a youth and a student/athlete I played almost every sport offered.  My Senior Year in High School I lettered in 5 Sports.  Football/Golf (simultaneously Fall), Winter Track/Ice Hockey(simultaneously Winter) and Baseball (Spring).  I graduated High School in 1993 and attended Bucks County Community College.  There I did my basic coursework for my undergrad degree and played Baseball in lieu of accepting scholarships for Football/Baseball at smaller and more costly 4 Year Colleges.  I was an All State Second Baseman in from 1993-1995 at Bucks, Named Male Athlete of the Year at BCCC (1995) and also played in the Pennsylvania East West American Legion All Star Game in 1994.  During this time I was offered a Scholarship to the University of South Carolina-Aiken to continue my Education/Baseball Career.  At USCA, I was a pitcher and did some hitting; most of my hitting was done with a Fungo however.  After my Senior College Season in 1997, I was given an opportunity to play a little bit of Professional Baseball and extend my career.  I signed with the Johnstown Steal of the Frontier League.  Still one of the best Summers of my life to date!  At the conclusion of the season, I realized that Baseball had given me a lot of opportunity and it was finally time to step away and complete my degree and give back.  At this time I resumed my Education and my relationship with my now Wife, Gina.  I finished my undergraduate degree at Augusta State University in 1999.  I have since earned a Masters Degree in Foundations of Education (Troy State University) in 2005 and a Specialists Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration (Lincoln Memorial University) in 2008.  I have been teaching Middle School Health and PE in Columbia County since 2000.  My first opportunity was at Harlem Middle School (2000-2002).  I opened Grovetown Middle School in 2002-2003 when we broke ground and built this school.  During my tenure in Columbia County I have had the pleasure and opportunity to serve as Athletic Director for 20 years, Football Coach for 21 Years, Baseball Coach for 20 Years (Both High School and Middle School), Tennis Coach, Golf Coach and Boys Basketball Coach for 13 Years.  As a Father of two Beautiful Daughters (12,17), I have had all the support in the world at home.  My Wife (Married in 2002) and Daughters have been my biggest fans and most crucial Rocks during my coaching career.  Without their support and love, I would not be able to fulfill my passion to Teach and Coach.   I have two huge milestones this year as my oldest daughter begins her Senior Year at Evans and will graduate in 2024 while my younger daughter begins her Middle School career as a 6th Grader at Evans Middle School.   In my spare time I own and operate a Woodworking Business, Dirty South Woodworks.  Here's to 2023-2024.  May you all be blessed and loved!
