Chemistry

Important Information: The Columbia County Course Catalog states the pre-requisite for this class as "Coordinate Algebra".

If your student does not possess the credit for both semesters, they will be referred to the registrar for removal from the class. This is not negotiable and parent request cannot override the pre-requisite. There is a reason for this! We use skills previously learned in algebra on Day 1. If your student struggled in Algebra, and you still want them to take it, I strongly suggest we meet so you will be aware of the expectations of this class. It will be the strongest math/science class your student has experienced thus far.

Supplies: 2023-2024

Pen/Pencil/Paper, something to write notes and practice problems.

Binder/Folder, something to keep up with your work

Calculator, you MUST have a calculator. I do not have a class set like the math classes. You need to be comfortable using it in scientific notation (EE or 10X)

Disposable Gloves - 25 pair for the year will be plenty. We don't need them right now, but ASAP. These are NOT for you to share. It is your own set to keep in your locker (I don't have space to keep 100 boxes...)

I have lab aprons, but you can have your own lab coat if you want one.

**Columbia County pays for all the equipment and chemicals we use. There is no additional lab fee.
