Today, each class took some time to get outside and clean up our school. They were shocked at how much trash was picked up considering our school is still close to new. They worked so hard and I couldn't be more proud of them! We picked up over 3 bags worth. :)

3rd Grade 2020 Election- Our kiddos got to vote for the first time yesterday. We have been working on our rights and responsibilities as citizens. It was an awesome day!

Halloween STEM Stations- We made  pumpkin buildings, "bone" bridges, and created catapults and measured which items went the longest or shortest distance. (The pictures are at the bottom. I can't get them to load up here for some reason. :(  )

Here are the notes for our Georgia Government. :)

Paleontologist Dig

We had a yummy fossil excavation today. We got to use pics and brushes to help us to dig out those fragile little fossils. :)

Creating Fossils

Even though we know it takes millions of years for fossils to be created, we were able to create our own. Students were able to choose from shells, bugs, or turtles. :)

Erosion & Weathering Lab

Our students got to experience a quick version of how weathering and erosion affects rocks. I have to say I think they loved it. :)

Types of Soils Lab

Our students got to explore the different types of soil and each of their attributes. :)

Rocks & Minerals Lab

Yesterday we created edible maps to culminate learning about the US rivers and mountains. I think they had a blast and could even tell me which rivers and mountain ranges they had put on their map. :)
